Klaus Dieter pepper (* 19. May 1962) is a German physician, Immunologe and a molecular biologist. For its work it received the Gottfried William Leibniz price of the German research council to 2004.

Personal record

Klaus pepper studied Humanmedizin at the university in Ulm from 1981 to 1987 and made its license to practise medicine. From 1987 to 1989 he worked on Institut for medical microbiology of the university and Immunologie, attained a doctorate 1988. 1989 worked he in the connection for some months in the medical hospital and health center in the department for Infektiologie.

Afterwards it went to the technical University of Munich as a research assistant in Institut for Med. microbiology and hygiene, to which its doctor father was changed. Besides it worked as medical coworkers on the hospital and health center for surgery DOES Munich and locked in the year 2001 its specialist for microbiology and infection epidemiology. it went to 2002 as a director to Institut for medical microbiology to the Heinrich Heine university into Duesseldorf.

Research

Klaus pepper concentrates in his research on the reactions of the immune system to the infection with bacteria. It could contribute considerably to the explanation of the function of the Zytokine. In addition it codeveloped the molecular-biological method gene targeting, with which important functions of the immune system could be cleared up. A further Forschungsgebiet represents the immune reaction with organ transplant ions. It is common with Ulrich Koszinowski director/conductor of the project infections and inflammation: a gene COM width search for specific and general regulatorischen processes in the context of the national Genomforschungsnetzes (NGFN)
