Klaus Croissant (* 1931 in Kirchheim under Teck; "† 28. March 2002 in Berlin) was a German attorney, RAF sympathizer and an agent of the Ministry for public security of the GDR. Croissant stood as a candidate unsuccessfully for the alternative list as a mayor von Kreuzberg and occurred 1990 the Party of Democratic Socialism.

Friday describes Croissants attitude: It defended among other things Ulrike Meinhof and Andreas Baader during their processes and was an executor of Meinhof. Croissant helped to be kept as other lawyers of the RAF upright also, the internal communication system between the terrorists by the forwarding from cell circular letters. The police arrested it 23 June 1975, its warrant of arrest however against security except execution was set, on which Croissant fled on 11 July 1977 to France and requested there political asylum. In France Croissant was arrested on 30 September 1977 and delivered on 17 November 1977 to the judicial authorities of the Federal Republic. Finally he was condemned because of support of a combination of terror to an imprisonment of 2 1/2 years.

After its dismissal from the prison he began to work for the Ministry for public security of the GDR, him 1981 as an unofficial coworker "IN the Thaler ", moves No. XV/5231/81 obligated. Its life companion, the taz Redakteurin and later European delegate of the party the Greens, Brigitte Heinrich he than Agentin enlisted for the MfS and led her up to their death in the year 1987. 1993 became its state security service activity publicly. It lost thereby most of his contacts and friends in the scene. He never understood, why co-operation with the secret service of Germany better for him encountered within the left scene so large refusal.
