King of instrument is a mark of the company Conn Selmer, Inc., which decreases/goes back to the former American manufacturer of sheet metal wind instruments of this name. In particular the trombones of King counted 20 over far parts. Century beside the instruments of the main competitors C.G. Conn and Bach to and the most popular trombones of American building method manufactured innovativsten world-wide in series.

History

King of instrument was created as H.N. White company by the Metallblasinstrumentenmacher Henderson N. White, that toward end 19. Century in Cleveland led a repair shop for sheet metal wind instruments. On operation of the friendly Soloposaunisten of the Clevelander Lyceum Theatre Orchestra, Thomas King, this and Henderson codeveloped 1893 together a trombone at that time course running substantially more easily in relation to instruments and improved sound. The "King" - trombone became fast the most popular trombone of the entire USA, so that White extended and soon thereafter began its product range first by a cornet, also trumpets, to manufacture Baritone and Euphonien with double acoustic horn.

In the consequence White investigated methodically, which parameters affect the sound and the Intonation of different sheet metal wind instruments. For this purpose it sponserte among other things a work chapel. As first manufacturers brought White sheet metal wind instruments with an acoustic horn from Sterlingsilber on the market (Silver Sonic).

After Whites death took over its widow Edna White 1940 the management. 1964 began the building of a new work in Eastlake, Ohio. In the following year sold Edna White the enterprise to a group of investors and went into the retirement.

1966 fused that up to then as H.N. White company well-known enterprises with the sea-castle corporation, a large manufacturer from the entertainment electronics, and in King musical of instrument were renamed.

1985 took place the assumption via the competitor C.G. Conn. This went for his part 2002 in the group of Conn Selmer, Inc. up.
