Kido (* 1889; "† 1977) were a Japanese politician and war criminal.

Kido was born 1889 as a son of the upper yard marshal Kido Takamasa and as a grandchild of Kido Takayoshi. After conclusion of its legal study at the University of in the year 4 Kido began its service in the Ministry for economics and trade and was in the following years among other things a department manager of the agency mechanical engineering and director/conductor of the department of account system, director/conductor of the agency for rationalization of the industry, leading secretary of the Lordsiegelbewahrers and advisor in the imperial office for yard. In the year 8 (1933) recommended Saionji Kinmochi (1849-1940) to Kido as a chairman for the department of the office for yard, which is concerned with questions of the imperial family, imperial conferences etc. s´chitsury´). As in the year 12 (1937) Konoe Fumimaro a cabinet educated, became Kido Ministers for education and welfare, in order to function after the resignation of the cabinet as a delegate of the upper house. After the resignation of the cabinet Yonai Mitsumasa however Kido followed the advice (former prime ministers) and recommended Konoe as an Prime Minister. From this Kidos opinion and judgement played an important role with the choice of a new Prime Minister. So 1941 Hideki Tojo prime minister could become as a successor Konoes. Because of its political influence and because of its role at the Hofe, in addition, for the protection of the emperor Kido was loaded before the Tokioter tribunal. Kido was thus accused in representation of the emperor before the war crimes tribunal. Its diary served the public prosecutor's office as evidence, but also the emperor during the process not only for its protection from an accusation. In addition Kido practiced in it relentless criticism at the military, which responsible for the war he made, and placed it thereby into a contrast to the peaceful and friedliebenden emperor. Condemned before the Tokioter war crimes tribunal Kido as war criminals of the category A to life imprisonment, however from disease reasons prematurely of 1955 to dismiss. He deceased 1977.
