Kevin M. Murphy, U.S. - American economist, at present George J. Stigler professor at the University OF Chicago Graduate School OF Business and senior Fellow at the Hoover institution of the Stanford University.

Murphy 1997 with John Bates Clark Medal of the American Economic Association excellently for its work in the area of the increasing Lohnungleichheit between workers and employees in the USA as well as its explanation beginning, which set the increasing Lohnungleichheit with the increasing demand for well trained specialists in connection. Further research ranges Murphys are growth theory, income inequality, evaluation of medical research, rational dependence as well as unemployment.

Murphy is an author of over 60 scientific publications.

On 20 September 2005 it was distinguished with the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship, which is also often called "genius grant" (research means for genius).
