Kesselflicker is a nearly become extinct occupation relating to crafts. It was exercised in mostly by members of the driving people. One called these moving craftsmen also

Exactly like Scherenschleifer, coppersmiths and other craftsmen they pulled with their living truck and their family from place to place. They stored beside a village and arranged there their workshop (fire place etc.).

In the places they collected the pots and pans in. In their camp they soldered holes in the boilers or pans again too, dickten the boiler bottoms or tinned the boilers again.

Today the handicraft in Europe is only exercised in Romania by the Roma.

From this profession also the proverb is derived: That grumbles like a Kesselflicker.
