Kenneth Colin (K.C.) Irving (* 14. March 1899, Bouctouche (new Braunschweig), "† 13 December 1992) was one of the prominent entrepreneurs of the Atlantic provinces of Canada and ranks among the prominent Industriemagnaten 20. Century. It was born in Bouctouche, a small city, which was dominated by the sawmill of its father.

In its youth time K.C applied. Irving as tough Bur. Its first business activities began early, became however from the 1. World war overshadows. Together with some friends it wanted to announce itself to the war service, what however its father forbade. Instead its father announced it for the attendance of the Acadia university in Wolfville, new Scotland. Irving left however the university prematurely, still before its conclusion, and pulled transversefield in until British Columbia, before he returned to Boutouche. Its second attempt to announce itself to the war service father could be nothing more oppose, and so he joined the Royal Canadian air Force as a combat pilot.

Irving oil Limited

As a young man Irving sold Ford automobiles in Kent County, new Braunschweig, and created 1924 Irving oil during the beginnings of the automobile age, before he to Saint John (new Braunschweig) moved. Irving oil expanded from a small network of rural gas stations to the largest fuel dealer in the Atlantic provinces, east Quebec and north new England, with some thousand gas stations and shops, the largest oil refinery of Canada, a fleet of ocean tankers and a network of fuel yards in the region.

Irving oil Limited financed most other business K.C. Irvings. K.C also the sawmill of its father transferred some years after the establishment of Irving oil Limited to Bouctouche, J.D. Irving Limited (JDI), which it extended then consistently. Today JDI is the largest land owner in new Braunschweig, Neuschottland and Maine. These forests feed the need of several cellulose and paper factories and sawmills, which supply again the company newspapers, handkerchief and diaper factories in new Braunschweig, Neuschottland, Maine, New York, Quebec and Ontario.

Diversification and vertical integration

During 2. World war and the post-war period expanded Irving and bought dockyards, created building firms, food-processing enterprises, radio and TV stations, do-it-yourself enthusiast shops and transport enterprises - everything that could be integrated vertically into the Imperium. That means that each individual from Irvings companies Irvings acquires the products and services of other enterprises, and so the profits in the conglomerate remain.
