KEMNA was a steam engine, a steam tractor, a lokomobilen, a steam plow, a road roller and a tractor factory in Breslau, the capital Schlesiens, until 1945 East Germany, today Poland (area middle or). The company name read J.Kemna - Breslau.

Julius Kemna, the founder originally originated from Wuppertal, where he was born 1837. 1867 it begins its enterprise in Breslau first with agricultural machinery. He cooperated for a while with Fowler, decides however already soon to build own Lokomobilen and steam plows. After the model Fowlers builds also a cylinder saturated steam machines for Kemna, but soon he recognizes the advantage of the high pressure steam technology with superheated steam and the Compound or composite construction, those with smaller consumption by heating material and water capable of substantially higher achievements ist.1908 presents to Kemna an advancement of the Compound system: a superheated steam plow locomotive with exaggerated steam and 2 high pressure cylinders.

The spare part problem leads the First World War into the grasp to get to the demand of the army command that tractors are manufacturer-spreading standardized, in order. Kemna places thereupon the road locomotive EM (unit machine) forwards, which is copied soon by different manufacturers in the German Reich. Many of these machines were supplied as reparation after the First World War to completely Europe.

1919 recruit Kemna with its steam full trailer combinations, that were road locomotives with 2 trailers, those capable were "300 to 400 hundredweights to transport with a range of up to 30 kilometers with a speed of 5 - 10 km/h."

2 machines of Kemna can be still visited in museums in Sinsheim and Berlin.

Under the mark Wratislawia were offered by Kemna threshing machines and other devices.

Kemna built tractors with combustion engine after the First World War also.

With Kemna also steam road rollers were built, which were equipped after the First World War already soon with combustion engine. Road rollers of Kemna were well-known in completely Europe.

By the entrance of the son, Erich Kemna turns the enterprise strengthens the range road construction too. 1910 are already offered for this a bitumen mixture. The location for the range road construction is shifted to Berlin.

In the Second World War the work in Breslau completely and due to the cession of territory Schlesiens at Poland is destroyed closes 1945 the work J. Kemna.

But thus the name Kemna does not end yet:

After the Second World War in Luebeck in the having RA work Kemna rollers are further-built, but the signature mark Kemna disappears soon on the machines thereby always ends the construction of vehicles under the name Kemna.

The road construction range of Kemna in Berlin stands under control of winner powers, therefore in Pinneberg close Hamburg the Kemna building firm ltd. is created. After omission of allying control citizen of Berlin is integrated the work. It will become again mastic asphalt offered and it procedures developed, which rationalize road construction.
