Karl Albrecht (* 20 February 1920 probably in meals) is together with its brother Theo Paul Albrecht owner of the Aldi group.

Life

Karl and Theo Albrecht grew up in modest conditions. The father was busy as a miner and later than helping out bakers; the nut/mother had a small food shop in the Essener worker quarter of Schonnebeck. Theo completed a theory in the shop of his nut/mother, Karl in a delicatessen store. After the end of the Second World War took over the two brothers 1946 the parental grocer's shop. 1961 open the first Aldi (Albrecht Discount).

Withdrawn from the public living, little is well-known over it. Albrecht is married, father of a child and lives in Donaueschingen. Albrecht is trailer of the gulf haven and possesses its own place with hotel, the , he let which build 1976 - still before the gulf boom -. It breeds Orchideen.

From the operational business of ALDI south withdrew itself Albrecht 1994 and took over the supervisory board presidency, which he likewise gave up at the beginning of of 2002 and thereby completely from the enterprise withdrew themselves, which is led now exclusively by family-strange managers. The two brothers brought their fortunes into the Mark US donation and the Siepmann donation.
