When Kantillen (franz. Cannetilles, also Bouillon) one designates a make from fine, screw-like a tube wound wire, becomes the Sticken, with which producing of edgings, Quasten, uses Epauletten etc.
One converted to Kantillen partly genuine, partly false, round or gold or silver wire. That one supplies the matte Kantillen, the wire (Lahn) the Glanzkantillen.
Into the production of the Kantillen one winds this wire in simple screw situation on a needle, which is shifted by a usual reeling wheel into fast revolution. If the needle is full, then one pushes the wire partially down and continues then with the work, so that Kantillen can be formed by arbitrary length.
The strength of the needle depends completely on the purpose, for which the Kantillen is intended. If the needle is sharp-edged, then receives the Kantillen, which with the Herabnehmen of the needle by the elasticity of the wire somewhat to unroll itself, a screw-like reputation (Kantillen, Krausbouillon creases).
