Julius Petschek (* 14. March 1856 in "† 22 January 1932 in Prague) was a large-scale manufacturer and banker.

The lawyer stepped after completion of his study of the rights at the Karl university Prague into the Austrian-Hungarian government service. In the year 1880 Petschek attained a doctorate to the Dr. jur. The upper financial advice separated 1906 from the government service, in order to become together with its brother Ignaz Petschek business active.

By buying up of coal works and coal fields in the Petscheks became within fewer years the Braunkohlenmagnaten As successful entrepreneurs they won also large influence on the Central German lignite mining after the First World War.

In this time also its expansion took place in the bank trade with the 1920 took place establishment of the banking house Petschek & CO in Prague.
