Julia Bell (* 28 January 1879; "† 1979), English Humangenetikerin are one the name giver of the Martin Bell syndrome.

The Trinity college, Dublin locked it with the doctor degree of mathematics. As a female assistant for the medical statistics in the University college, Cambridge was suggested to it of her Mentor Karl Pearson (1857-1936) to study medicine. 1920 locked it the medicine study in London School OF Medicine for Women (Royal Free hospital) and pc. Mary's hospital and 1938 to the Royal college OF Physicians were taken up. Their work in the Galton Laboratory, where it documented family illnesses, is considered as pioneer work. Together with John Burdon Sanderson Haldane (1892-1964) wrote it to 1937 an article over genetic linkages with and red green blindness. With J. Purdon Martin described it for the first time 1943 the Fragile X syndrome. Into the high age of 86 years actively she took part in the genetic research. Them became 100 years old. After it also five forms of the Brachydaktylie are described apart from the Martin Bell syndrome.
