Josef (* 16 February 1904 in forest lake, "† 5 July 1948 in Krakau) was undersecretary of state of the government of the Generalgouvernements in Krakau during the time of the national socialism. Since June 1941 constant deputy of the governor general Hans franc, he was jointly responsible at all crimes at the Polish population and at the mass murder at the Jews in Poland.

Life

buildup in forest lake as a son of a baker in a catholic family. After the High School and study of the jurisprudence he attained a doctorate 1932 to the Dr. jur.

In April 1933 it occurred the NSDAP. As a senior public prosecutor it was office manager with the realm Minister without division Hans franc. Starting from December 1939 he was a boss of the office of the governor general franc in Krakau, starting from March 1940 its undersecretary of state.

It pushed pure hard Heydrich to the when sea-conference to begin with the final solution in the Generalgouvernement because he saw no transportation problems here and in this area as fast as possible wished to solve the Jew question. 1942 took part in the preparations for German settlements with Lublin and in kidnapping from Poland to the hard labour to Germany.

In January 1945 from Krakau fled. In April 1946 he was a witness of the defense of Hans's franc before the international military court yard in Nuremberg, afterwards he was delivered to Poland. In Krakau Josef was condemned and executed in July 1948 to death.

Artistic working on

Josef found, beside some other high representatives of the Holocaust bureaucracy, entrance into Robert Harris' novel native country.
