John Hodge (* 1964 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a British film script author and physician.

Biografie

John Hodge is born and grown up as a descendant of a family of physicians in Glasgow. The tradition following it studied some years in the years 1982 to 1987 medicine at the University OF Edinburgh and worked as a physician in Edinburgh. After he became acquainted with 1990 there with a Filmfestival the film producer Andrew Macdonald, he began to write film scripts. 1993 it pulled to London, worked there as a physician and wrote further film scripts, among other things for Trainspotting.

Its film scripts were filmed to a large extent by Danny Boyle, for whose film Trainspotting he received also some honors. Thus it won the BAFTA Award for the best film script with this film 1996; 1997 he was nominated for the OSCAR for the best adapted film script and won the BAFTA Award Scotland and the Evening standard British film Award.
