Sir John Edward Sulston (*27. March 1942) is a British scientist. it received 2002 with Sydney burner and H. Robert Horvitz the Nobelpreis for medicine "for its research work in the area of the genetic adjustment of the organ development and the programmed cell dying".

Life

Sulston showed already promptly an interest in natural sciences. With the help of a scholarship at a Privatschule in Northwood it acquired its graduation in the subjects biology, physics and chemistry. 1960 it began then its studies, again with a scholarship, at the University OF Cambridge. it locked 1963 with the Bachelor, 1966 acquired it the PhD there.

Sulston is married and has two children.
