Johannes Widmann (* around 1444 in Maichingen; "† 31 December 1524 in Pforzheim), mentioned " or also "Salicetus" (of salix = pasture), was a professor of the medicine and herzoglicher body physician.

Life

• 1459: On 1 October the inscription at the University of Heidelberg takes place as "Johannes Widmann de scolaris Constantiensies Dyocesis". Scarcely 2 years later it is "Bakkalar of the arts". This is in for instance comparable with our Abitur; one can assume thus that he was born around 1444.
• 1464: Johannes Widmann becomes to 19. March at the University of Heidelberg "Magister of the arts".
• Afterwards study of the medicine in Italy, 1466 in Pavia with at that time famous physician Johannes Marlianus. There Widmann acquires the doctor title according to own statements.
• After the return to Germany stays are in Ulm (1469) and Ingolstadt (1474) occupies.
• 1475 appointment to the body physician of the Mark count Christoph I. of bathing. Activity in Basel (1477) and Strasbourg (1483).
• 1484 appointment as a professor of the medicine to the 1477 University of by count Eberhard in the beard.
• 1493 appointment as the body physician of the count Eberhard in the beard.
• 1498 appointment as the body physician of the duke Ulrich of this activity it holds as can be prove until 1513. Over the activity and the Aufenthalsorte in the then following 9 Lebensjahren nothing is well-known.
• Mechthild Belczin lives 1522 Johannes Widmann, in the Pforzheim of Baden with its wife.
• 1524 on the last day of the yearly it dies in Pforzheim and in the pin church is buried there.
