Johannes Karasek, called the Prager Hansel or Hansel (*1764 in Prague Smichov; "† 14 September 1809 in Dresden) was the leader of a gang of robbers.

After the learned carpenter and Fleischhauer from the Austrian army were defected, he followed the gang of the robber captain palm. Particularly the Exklaven in the Oberlausitz offered good slip angles to it for raids to the wealthy ones in the southern Oberlausitz and in the Niederland.

After Palmes death became Karasek the leader of the gang. In the meantime with Magdalena Greibich, daughter of the Gerichtskretschamwirtes in at that time new forest (Leutersdorf) married, made it for Karasek the condition that Leutersdorf remained exempted from the raids. This went for a long time well and nobody drew suspicion. When itself Karasek decided nevertheless in the year 1800 to out-rob the Oberleutersdorfer property that was the end of the gang. On the way lost pieces of booty led fast to the Greibichschenke and Karasek, which were beyond each suspicion with its elegant occurrence and his eloquence up to then, were constituted as the head of the gang.

Karasek was made in Bautzen the process. In the time of 1800 to 1803 Karasek was in castle-left at the former castle water tower of the local castle locked up. The death sentence was converted later into a lifelong detention. But also after Karaseks arrest the raids did not stop. This time it was mentioned the gang of Wenzel grief, the Wenzel, which of the Exklave Neuschirgiswalde (Schirgiswalde) from acted and 1803 were dug. The Greibichschenke was finally torn off 1804, in order to prevent a further use than robber nest.
