Joannes Cassianus Pompe (* 1901; "† 1945) were a Netherlands pathologist, who described disease Pompe as first 1932 the metabolic illness designated after it.

After a study at the University of Amsterdam it graduated 1936 to the physician with its thesis to this metabolic disturbance. Pompe was very well read and creditor catholic. In the Second World War in its laboratory a secret radio communication system was discovered. Pompe was arrested by the German Besatzern in February 1945. After a line close pc. Pancras had been blown up, it was shot together with 19 further persons with a retaliation action.
