Jitzchak Rabin (Hebrew:

* 1. March 1922 in Jerusalem; "† 4 November 1995 in Tel Aviv) was a general staff boss of Tzahal as well as Secretaries of Defense and Prime Minister of its country. Over years Rabin of one of the most important decision makers of Israel was in outside and safetypolitical questions.

Life

Family and early years

Jitzchaks father, Nehemia Rabin (actually: Rubitzow), born 1886 in the Ukraine, had emigrated 1905 into the USA. In the 1. World war it unsalaried employee in the Jewish Legion the British army and was used in Egypt and Palestine. When Arab rebellions broke out, it went to Jerusalem, where it met its future Mrs pink Cohen (* 1890). The pair married 1921. Military career

Rabin had received first pre+military instruction since the year 1935, when he went into Giwat HaSchloscha to the school. In Kedurie Jigal Allon was responsible for the military training. 1941 he was recruited in the Kibbuz Ramat Johanan for the again-created Palmach, an elite unit of the Hagana, one of the zionistischen underground organizations at that time, which changed after 1948 into the Israeli army. In the year 1941 it, as a member of the British army, participated in military operations in Syria and Lebanon. 1945 he became deputy Palmach commander of the troops, which fought against the British mandate troops.
