Jimmy Donal "Jimbo "Wales (* 7 August 1966 in Huntsville, Alabama, the USA) is the founder of the Wikipedia and acting chairmen of the Wikimedia Foundation.

1996 created of Wales the Internet enterprise Bomis. From 1999 to 2001 it led the open encyclopedia project Nupedia, which was replaced afterwards from the Wikipedia. In the summer 2003 Wales created the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, whose executive committee it manages since then.

Wales lives with his Mrs. Christine and its daughter Kira (born on 26 December 2000) in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Occasionally it enjoys games of chess with its friends.

Activities outside of the Wikipedia

2004 created of Wales the enterprise Wikia, which operates also a free Hosting service and several commercial Wikis. Wales was described also as passionate trailers of the objectivism (philosophical system).
