Jacques Renouard, seigneur de Villayer (* 24. June 1607 in Nantes; "† 5. March 1691 in Paris) was member of the French Conseil, at the absolutist governing king Ludwig XIV. certain legal powers had delegated.

When tenant left Paris city post office to that Renouard de Villayer 1653 in different places in of Paris mail boxes to set up, into which with a unit postage letters before-franked of 1 sol could be inserted, which were then set still on the same day within the city. The for this purpose published receipt strips (de haven billet ), which for franking to the letters to be attached had, are considered as early forerunners of the stamp. No copy kept until today. The Petite in such a way specified Poste was an economic failure, successfully in other cities of Europe (approximately by London penny of post office starting from 1680) was however later copied.

1659 became Renouard de Villayer as a successor Abel Serviens member of the fran§aise.

The house coat of arms of Renouard de Villayer was illustrated 1944 by the French post office on the occasion of tags the stamp on a special mark.
