James David wolf son (* 1 December 1933 in Sydney) was from 1995 to 2005 a ninth president of the World Bank.

In Australia born and in the meantime in-patriated Americans lawyer and Banker are active and since 1963 in the international stock exchange and bank business. He attained conclusions in Sydney and to the Harvard University.

With the olympic plays 1956 in Melbourne it was member of the Australian olympic fencing team.

On 1 June 1995 he became a president of the World Bank. On 27 September 1999 its second office period began, whereby it was unanimously again-appointed by the executive board of directors of the World Bank. Thus he became a third president, who did a second term of office with the World Bank. Its follow-up began to 1 June 2005 Paul Wolfowitz.
