Jacques Francis Albert Pierre Miller (* 2 April 1931 in Nice) is an Australian scientist of French origin, to which as a discoverer of the T-cell-Immunologie is considered.
Miller buildup in France, in Switzerland and in China. After the outbreak of the Second World War its family pulled after Sydney. Miller studied Sydney at the University OF, then it attained a doctorate at the Chester Beatty Research of institutes in London. Into the early 1960er years decoded there it the role thymus in the training of immune tolerance against the own body. It turned 1966 to Australia as a research group leader to walter and Eliza resounds institutes OF Medical Research (WEHI) in Melbourne back, where it discovered among other things that Lymphozyten can be divided into the T-Lymphozyten and B-Lymphozyten, and that first help the latters with the production of anti-bodies ""(T-Helferzellen). Since 1996 are Miller emeritiert, however still works as a honorary professor on the WEHI.
Miller received, among other things numerous honors the Copley Medal and the honorary membership of the German society for Immunologie.
