Jacques Benveniste (* 12. March 1935 Paris, France; "† 3 October 2004 ebenda) was a French physician.

He worked at INSERM (Institut de la et de la search the French health and Forschungsinstitut, and 1984 the director of the research department of this institute was appointed. he discovered 1970 "Platelet activating factor" (PAF), a growth factor in connection with Angiogenese.

He attained a doubtful celebrity with his alleged discovery that antigens can affect white blood cells (leukocytes) over a "memory effect" of the water. A report on these, for the appearing innovative piece of news was particularly printed even in the Nature.

However it did not succeed to researchers in the whole world to confirm the effect in the experiment. More still: Under the supervision of the Nature Chefredaktors Sir John Maddox and the American pseudo science opponent James Randi it did not succeed to Benveniste themselves to repeat its own results.

Jacques Benveniste won two times the industrial union-Nobelpreis for chemistry, loaded heavily with negative call, 1991 and 1998. The magazine Nature never withdrew however the disputed report.
