The J. Schmalz GmbH 1910 were created as razor-blade factory in smooth ones in the Black Forest. Over the years the production program of razor-blades changed for stretching systems over transportation equipments to vacuum components, vacuum handling systems and -.

Today the enterprise ranks among the offerers within the range of the vacuum engineering, leading world-wide, and employs over 280 coworkers (conditions: 2006). The world-wide sales network covers twelve subsidiaries in China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Spain and the USA.

Schmalz is according to DIN ISO 9001 (quality) and according to DIN ISO 14001 (environment) certified and after the regulation (EMAS) validates.

Products

• In the largest division vacuum components are manufactured for the automation industry vacuum suction gripper, vacuum generator (ejectors) and vacuum switch, as well as complete, customized evacuated systems in connection with comprehensive services such as Systemauslegung, consultation, planning and service.
• Among the second division, the vacuum handling systems rank both lifting devices and transportation equipments and tensioning arrangements.
• The third division covers vacuum stretching systems for CNC processing machines in the wood and plastic range.

Lasting managing

The J. Schmalz GmbH engages itself in environmental protection, then the generation of current over wind and water power is regulated and the heating with hogged woods is operated. The enterprise manufactures more energy, than it uses. These activities in environmental protection became by honors like the Green Week Award within the range "management Award for Sustainable development" of the European commission (2004), which "BDI Umweltpreis 2004" and the honor 2004". In addition the J. Schmalz GmbH received the "German price for restaurant economics".
