Bunch was born 1845 in Otterberg, Germany. 1854 emigrated its family into the USA and came 1874 into the possession of the table-ware department of the department store "R.H. Macy" in New York. 1888 became Isidor bunch as well as its brother Nathan partner of the department store Macy.

Isidor bunch was beyond that in the years 1894 to 1895 member of the house of representatives. It was married with the four years younger Rosalie IDA Blun.

On 10 April 1912 Isidor bunch as well as his Mrs. Ida and two employees went on board the luxury steamer Titanic. They inhabited the Nachbarsuite of Colonel John Jacob Astor. When the ship went down five days later regarding the North Atlantic, the illustre pair went to the life raft No. 8 on the port side. Since contrary to the starboard side no men were allowed to enter here, IDA had to go alone.
