Isao Nakauchi (* 2 August 1922 in Kobe, Japan; "Â 19 September 2005 ebd.) was a Japanese entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Nakauchi created 1957 first the Shufu NO Mise Daiei in Osaka. Into the USA into the early 1960er years saw he the development potentials of large supermarkets and sold its firm portions of the Shufu NO Mise Daiei. Beyond that it separated from its portions of that of people Inc., a steak house operator, and different real estates. It created afterwards the Daiei Inc., with which he became the king of the Japanese retail trade.
Isao Nakauchi was the founder and boss of many years of the Daiei Inc. After its retreat from the daily firm commitment 2001 he was a chairman of the board of directors of the Nakauchi Gakuen Education Foundation, which created among other things the Kobe Gakuin University. Up to its death it could be assured contractually to represent the Daiei further.
With the pioneer of the management teachings, Harvard professor Peter Ferdinand printer (* 1909), originating from Austria, Nakauchi wrote two books concerning the characteristics of the Japanese and asiatic economics and the world-economical challenges by the asiatic economy.
Forbes leads the Daiei Inc. in the Forbes international 2000 at place 546 (2005). Nakauchi is to be found to 2000 at place 75 of the world-wide richest persons with Forbes.
Isao Nakauchi died at a cardiac infarct. It leaves its wife, two sons and a daughter.
