The chemistry enterprise internationally Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (in the following IFF called) has its head office in New York in the USA. It had 2003 a conversion of 1.9 billion US Dollar and was scarce thereby behind Swiss company Givaudan of one of the two market leaders within the range of the smell and flavour materials.

IFF employs world-wide over 5.400 coworkers, of it 92 your and 77 Flavoristen. The enterprise is noted and in 34 countries of the earth with altogether 66 addresses represented at the New Yorker stock exchange. It developed 1958 as fusion of several companies, whose oldest 1833 were already created. In Germany there are branches in upper living (North-Rhine/Westphalia) and Hamburg.

Although IFF manufactures a multiplicity of well-known products (within the perfume range approximately for the marks Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss, Clinique, Givenchy, Donna Karan, Calvin small, Este Lauder, Ralph Lauren and Yves Saint Laurent), is the name of the enterprise in the public a little present. The magazine Technology Review called IFF, Givaudan and other flavour manufacturers such as Symrise the quiet giants of the industry: Hardly a consumer knows it, although most have their products in the Flakon or in the refrigerator.
