IASB stands since 2001 for internationally Accounting standard board. It has its seat in London and is under private law organized and financed.

The task of the IASB is the elaboration of international bookkeeping and revision standards. The year ago 2000/2001 published standards are called internationally Accounting standard (IAS). Standards, which from this were published, are called IFRS (international Financial reporting standard). Hereby is to be considered to the fact that the goal of these standards is not only a correct record keeping, but also a correct and transparent reporting.

The IASB is international the for the 1973 created IASC, the Accounting standard Committee.
