Created Institut of the German economy registered association (IW) with head office in Cologne and a capital office in Berlin by federations and enterprises of the private economy one carries for 1951. On scientific basis it compiles analyses and statements to all questions of the economic and social politics, the education and instruction system as well as the social development.

Employer near Institut stressed to represent a "clear free market position" which wants to transport it in the policy and the public. It sees itself as a representative for the economy, operates thereby thus lobbying for the German enterprises.
