Institut for free market (Free Market Institut) is first and only private Institut for economic research in Lithuania. It was created by Elena Leontjeva. Main points of research are privatisation, self adjustment of the litauischen market, of the public range (State of, municipalities), macro-economic analyses and different projects.

Besides the training meetings, lectures at the university are offered to Vilnius for the promotion of critical thinking and the economic understanding.

Institut is characterised by transparency: nearly all research results, publications, comments on the macro-economic development, trend are published in the Internet (on Litauisch and English). Institut made the important contribution with the transition from the planned economy to the free-market economy of Lithuania.

Further projects are privatisation of the health service (national health insurance company) among other things, education, energy industry
