Ignaz glazier (* 5. May 1853 in "† 11 August 1916) was a Prager entrepreneur and founder of one of the largest Tafelglasfabriken of the K & K monarchy.

Life

He had bought 1881 in earlier, four years before with Salzburg from the bankrupt's estate of a glasswork the buildings and an enormous moorland gone into bankruptcy. Then it extended this factory gradually on four glass furnaces, which were heated with peat. It created also a brickyard, those was very successful and into the seventies 20. Century existed. Gradually it purchased further moorland surfaces in the adjacent Weidmoos and in the Ibmer moorland, where it also successfully cultivated hop. In the middle in the Ibmer moorland, in heel book, upper Austria, he opened further Glasfabrik.Als to 1901 the peat supplies the end zuneigten themselves and also the enterprise with peat because of strong dependence on the weather again and again than very uncertainly turned out, bought Ignaz glazier 1913 in the Brx a left open sugar factory and opened a new glass factory. In this factory the furnaces with the coal won there in the open mining were heated, which made the enterprise independent of influences of the weather. After death Ignaz of glazier 1916 transferred its on 18 August 1889 to born son Dr. Hermann glazier the glass factory, which experienced a short bloom again after the First World War. Then one missed however transferred to the machine flat glass production and in the year 1926 broke down the Firmenimperium of the family glazier. In still to at the end of of 1929 flat glass was produced by the company Stiassny, who had bought the possession. Then the glazier generation was finally stopped in 80% the Bevolkerung were unemployed.

The grave of Ignaz glazier is at the Jewish cemetery in the Salzburger quarter Aigen.Sein son Dr. Hermann glazier survived the Holocaust in Shanghai and died on 10 January 1956 in Vienna.

2006 will take place in the first Ignaz glazier Symposion about integration.
