Reproduction

The reproduction of hose mushrooms is very various, it can both in more ungeschlechtlicher and in sexual way happen. The latter is particularly characteristic by the reproduction structures trained thereby, the Asci. On the other side the ungeschlechtliche reproduction plays by far the larger role; many kinds gave the sexual Vermehrung up also completely.

In principle one differentiates two fundamentally different conditions with hose mushrooms with respect to the life cycle, the Anamorph, the ungeschlechtliche stage, and the Teleomorph, the sexual stage, which is however not always present. Sometimes the whole from Anamorph and Teleomorph is called also Holomorph.

Since Teleomorph and Anamorph resemble each other often outward in no way, was to in late 20. Century an allocation of the stages to each other often not possible. This has to the strange, but to today taxonomisch accepted situation led, which two different life stages are assigned to in and the same mushroom different "kinds" and so that different names to carry. Like that the sexual manifestation of the kerosene mushroom is for example well-known under the name Amorphotheca resinae, while Hormoconis designates the resinae ungeschlechtliche stage. By molecular-genetic methods today however ever more connections between these "kinds" are uncovered, so that the earlier organization of the ungeschlechlichen stages into an own department, which became obsolet Fungi imperfecti (Deuteromycota) today.
