Hubert newby (* 29 September 1960 in bath Aussee) is a former Austrian ski Springer. Today it is active as sport managers.

1979/80 it won the four-digging tour and was in this season also the first winner in this winter for the first time of the delivered FIS Skisprungsweltcups. In the following winters won it the tour again, in the Worldcup became it fourth. In the season 1983/84 it reached again the second rank of the total valuation. Its last Weltcupspringen denied it on 6 January 1985 with the four-digging tour in Bischofshofen.

After its career end at the same time a ski school worked newby first in its occupation as a flight pilot and led. 1996 he was supervisor of the ski flight world championship in bath Mitterndorf/Tauplitz. Between 1997 and 2000 was newby managing directors of the Austrian sport assistance. In this function he called the World of sport Awards OF the Century in the life. This Sportgala took place on 19 November 1999 in the Viennese state opera. A jury under the presidency of the IOC president at that time Juan Antonio Samaranch to this cause the largest sportsmen of the century. From this meeting the donation World of sport Awards Foundation followed, in whose order newby 2001 in London a further Gala with many sport sizes organized. In the following years this Galareihe with the Laureus Awards was united, which are assigned annually now in Monte Carlo. Newby has a seat in the supervisory board of the pertinent donation. He is besides a managing director newby Group of the GmbH, which annually organizes the Skiflugweltcup at the Kulm.

Hubert newby is married since 1984 and has two daughters. 2003 it published its Autobiografie under the title Flatline.
