Howard balance spring (* 21 January 1921 in Camden, new jersey) was a veteran of the second world war and mass murderer. On 6 September 1949 he shot 13 humans. It is considered as the first sniper murderer, who selected its victims indiscriminately.

Background

Always already rather withdrawn, the balance spring began to become about three months before its acts an a settler. The veteran was unemployed and lived with his nut/mother. During the war it was considered as a courageous tank soldier, who made itself exact recordings over each killed soldier, up to details over the corpse. 1945 it became honorably to dismiss and turned with a collection of medals and weapons home. It decorated its bedroom with military things and established a shooting range in the cellar. Its nut/mother worked during the day in a factory, Howard spent the time thereby in the house and daily into the church to go.

Approximately to the time, when he withdrew himself, he got annoyance with his neighbours. They regarded it as and it became the target of their mockery. Possibly it became thereby paranoid. Consequently it began to lead diary across everything, which was said about it. When it came home in the morning on 6 September at three o'clock from the cinema, it discovered that the gate that it had established straight before the house, had been stolen. This could have been the crucial trip.

The attacks

After it had slept to 8 o'clock, it tightened its best suit and had breakfast themselves with its nut/mother. Over 9:20 left it the house, armed with a German Luger and looked out for its first victim.

In only twelve minutes it met 26 people, from which it killed 13 and many heavily hurt. When he heard the sirens, he went into the house and met there an agreement with the policemen. It was ready to surrender and was heard. Only at the end of the the officials noticed that he had been hurt.

13mal "conscious killing with bad intention" and three times heavy bodily injury was accused to him. Since he had been explained as spirit-disturbed, the prison remained saved for him and it was committed to an institute for mentally abnorme right crushers, where it until today, when over eighty-year old still lives.

Balance spring Amoklauf was the worst of a set of suicides and murders of war veterans, which induced the US Government to undertake more for the treatment of these humans.
