Honeywell International Inc. is an American enterprise, which is represented by its addresses/locations world-wide. Honeywell belongs to the largest enterprises of the world. It is consisting a classical mixing company, of four ranges, which are again divided finally into different sections. The four ranges are Aerospace (air and space travel), Specialty of material, Transportation of system and automation and control Solutions. The largest range from it is Aerospace. It enjoys world-wide very high reputation and is one of the main suppliers of the airplane parts for airbus and Boeing. Besides also NASA refers usually systems of Honeywell Aerospace. Specialty of material concerns itself with the production of special chemicals and special foils (particularly for pharmacy), while the range automation and control Solutions concerns itself with automation techniques; i.e. it devices of the building services, air conditioners etc. the range Transportation of system is responsible developed among other things for the production of devices (e.g. in the traffic). In addition above all electronics of vehicles counts. The head office of the company is in Morristown, new jersey. The present CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Honeywell is David M. Cote. The shares of the company Honeywell are led in the Dow Jones index. The conversion amounts to about 25 billion US Dollar. Altogether approximately 120,000 coworkers in 95 countries are employed.
Honeywell became on 23 April 1885 of Albert Butz, Sohn Swiss immigrant, as Butz thermal Electric modulator CO. in Minneapolis based and busy itself first with the production of furnace control governors. It was the first enterprise, which offered products for the automatic regulation to the building interior temperature for the sales. 1912 built the enterprise the first factory in Minneapolis and called themselves from now on "Minneapolis Heat modulator CO." In the year 1924 Mark of C developed. Honeywell, a pioneer of the automatic control engineering in its enterprise "Honeywell Heating Specialties CO." the Uhrenthermostaten.1927: William R. Sweatt, new owner of the "Minneapolis Heat modulator company", and Marks of C. Honeywell, Inhaber "Honeywell Heating Specialties company" in Wabash, Indiana, merged their two enterprises. The new company with the name "Minneapolis Honeywell modulator company" was created as corporation and obtained already 1928 a conversion of 5.25 million dollar.
During the Viet Nam war Honeywell was responsible for the production of notorious fragment bombs. The enterprise became a goal of protests, which requested the consumers to buy no more products from Honeywell to until production was changed over to only civilian goods. Up to easy fluctuations of the share quotation, the protests had however no success.
1970 bought the computer section of General Electric to Honeywell. This section was then sold 1991 again at bulletin.
In the year 1999 the company with Allied signal fused. By this fusion Honeywell became one the largest undertaking world-wide.
In the years 2000-2002 of a fusion of the two mammoth enterprises Honeywell and General Electric were spoken again and again, which were finally rejected by the European Union commission however, although them had been already accepted before in the USA. No other fusion excited much attention in such a manner like these. From the fusion of the two companies the largest enterprise would world-wide have resulted.
In the year 2005 Honeywell bought the British mixing company Novar with its marks Esser (among other things EFF EFF), field man and TREND for 2.4 billion dollar. More exactly said the Novar GmbH with the locations Neuss, Albstadt and open brook belongs since 1 April 2005 to the Honeywell company and develops and produces products of the safety engineering. The other ranges of the November acre company cheque pressure and aluminum extruding were in the meantime resold.
