The HiTec Zang GmbH is represented an internationally active enterprise and in 14 countries. The enterprise was created 1985 by Dr. Ing. Werner Zang. HiTec Zang employs approximately 50 coworkers according to own data (2005). In the financial year 2005 the conversion of the enterprise amounted to approx. 2.500.000 euro, after approximately 2.000.000 euro in the year 2004.

Business fields

The operational business of the HiTec Zang GmbH distributes itself on five ranges:

Laboratory automation systems, laboratory instruments, laboratory reactor systems, equipment for the biotechnology and technical-industrial Dienstleistungenen. Within the range laboratory automation ranks the HiTec Zang GmbH among the market leaders.

The hard and software development and the customer projects are operated in the house HiTec Zang with its own interdisciplinary team from engineers and scientists. This is the condition for the necessary flexibility for the conversion of customer's requests and the fast reaction to constantly changing needs of the market. HiTec Zang is strongly a F&E oriented enterprise, which presents each year several new products.

History

From in the year 1979 the created "engineer's office for electronic systems" 1985 became the system house HiTec Zang. At this time the arising personal computers formed the basis for the development of intelligent recording of measurement systems.

The special conditions in laboratory and technical school required particularly flexible and Automatisierungsysteme which can be served simply, which became fair the 1980 imported MSR_manager-System. Whereupon constructing, together with chemists and Laboranten an equipment concept was developed, which found 1986 its realization in the lab manager system. Here in particular the recommendations of the NAMUR working groups were considered, which are concerned with the automation of batch processes and the standardisation of the interfaces in the chemical industry. Thus the second extraordinarily successful line was called in the life, which to today annually new products followed.

The range rehablitation electronics was expenditure-created 1991 as ORALTEC GmbH, which manufactures surrounding field control systems for Schwerstbehinderte. 1992 received the company the price of the city Aachen for innovation and technology.

The entrance into the project business for ready for occupancy process direction and EMSR systems led 1992 to the establishment of the affiliated firm NOVATEC GmbH.

On 1 June 1998 the TPW project a "automatic measuring system was started for on-line determination of the breathing activities in vibration pistons". The project contributes to the intensification of the interrelations between application and basic research, for which the co-operation partners HiTec Zang and the chair stand for bio process engineering (RWTH Aachen). This project was for the enterprise the entrance into the strongly growing market for applications of automations in the biotechnology.

To 1 September 1998 the private firm was reorganized into the HiTec Zang GmbH with a capital stock of 100.000, 00 DM.

1997 were introduced the lab kit system (mini planning technology).

1999 took place the introduction of the first laboratory instruments (ViscoPakt torque and GraviDos gravimetric dosing system) as well as 2001 of the RAMOS of system (parallel culture monitoring for the bio process development).

HiTec Zang is project partner in several research projects promoted by the European Union and the BMBF.
