Herbert Austin (* 8 November 1866 in Little measurement ends (of Buckinghamshire); "† 23. May 1941 in Lickey orange) was English Industrieller and politician.

Only old Austin drew and made 16 years after Melbourne its money as an engineer, but 1889 he already left Australia again toward homeland, where he designed in the factory of Frederick Wolsley accessories for the Schafschur. Its passion was however always vehicles of all kinds. It manufactured its first automobile starting from 1895 in its workshops, the Wolseley, and provided thereby for attention. Only five years later a four-wheeled successor came on the market, which was likewise very successful. The matured construction was very in demand. 1906 created Austin in former printering in Longbridge with Birmingham the first English car factory, the Austin engine company.

During the First World War, in which the Austin engine company in an armament and an aircraft factory was re-designed, Austin sat as conservative delegates in the British parliament. England thanked you for earnings/services with the knight impact and from Herbert Austin became Sir Herbert Austin. In the year 1936 Austin besides the lord was raised, became one year later it the university by Birmingham transferred.

The Second World War again forced the company to change itself over to armaments. Apart from different weapons and bombs also the Hawker Hurricane and the Avro Lancaster was manufactured here. But during the war Austin died after short, serious illness to 23. May 1941 in Lickey orange and it did not experience no more postwar successes. Also the union of its company with the Morris engine company as well as the end of the mark Austin 1987 remained saved to it.
