Henry Ford II (* 4 September 1917; "Â 29 September 1987), son of Edsel Ford and Enkel von Henry Ford, was a president Ford engine company of 1945-1960. The enterprise was converted 1956 under its guidance into a publicly acted finance company.
After Henry Ford II was appointed 1945 the Ford president, he kept this position until 1960, became CEO and Chairman of the enterprise, positions from which he on 1 October 1979 as CEO and 1980 as a Chairman withdrew.
While Henry Ford II did its military service at the US Navy in the Second World War, its father Edsel, the previous Ford president died. Since Ford engine company an war-important enterprise was, the Henry Ford II became within fewer weeks from the army to dismiss. Since its already 80-year old grandfather and firm founder Henry Ford were however not of the abilities of its grandchild convinced, he took over again the official line of the exempt private company, which he did not deliver completely only two years later and voluntarily again.
