Heinrich Martius (* 2 January 1885 in Berlin; "Â 17 February 1965 in Goettingen) was a physician.
The pupil of the Otto von Franque in Bonn was appointed 1926 to the director of the gynaecological clinic in Goettingen and led the hospital until 1954 despite the difficult economic situation in the following years to a new expansion. In Goettingen it was one of the most prominent representatives of the and birth assistance and is today still beyond the national border well-known.
He was appointed 1951/52 the president of the German society for and birth assistance (DGGG). Among its most important pupils rank Bickenbach, Schubert, Kepp and mass brook.
Its abilities provided a broad popularity for it as birth aids. Martius reduced the geburtshilflichen operations to a minimum, because it was the conviction that the birth was a physiological procedure created by nature, in without special reason is not intervened solle.1961 received it the Paracelsus medal.
