Heinrich Ehrhardt (* 11 November 1840 in Zella pc. Blasii; "† 20 November 1928 ebd.) was a German inventor, Industrieller and an entrepreneur.

128 patents were registered by it in the German Reich. The 1891 patented procedures, which admits of smooth pipes under the "Ehrhardt' pressing and pulling procedures" to the production became, are used today still in the industry. Admits made it also the development of the recoil cannon.

It created among other things 1878 metal and armament makers in Zella a pc. Blasii, 1889 the Rheini metal goods and engine works AG in Duesseldorf, 1896 the vehicle factory iron oh and 1903 in its hometown Zella Mehlis the Ehrhardt automobile AG.

At the corporation vehicle factory iron oh (FFE) it possessed initially 31.2 per cent of the share capital. First cannons and bicycles of the mark waiting castle were manufactured. Already 1898 took place the production of the first engine car "waiting castle" after the model of the French two-cylinder "Decauville", for which Heinrich Ehrhardt had acquired the license. Thus the vehicle factory was iron oh after the companies "Daimler" and "Benz" the third enterprise in Germany with an automobile production. In order the public and the shareholders of the quality "waiting castle" - engine car to convince, Heinrich Ehrhardt with this and a companion the steep road drove up to the waiting castle, which the car also created. 1903 withdrew themselves the Ehrhardts after losses and diversities of opinion with the principal shareholders from the company, whereby also the Decauville license was carried forward and those created Ehrhardt automobile AG.

Afterwards the vehicle factory became iron oh with the vehicles mark "Dixi" admits, before it was bought up by "BMW". After that 2. World war became from "BMW" the mark "EMW". From 1955 to the turn 1989 Firmierte one under "waiting castle".
