Life

After the Abitur it completed teachings as an industrial trader, before it began 1965 at the Ludwig Maximilians university Munich the study of the management economics. After its exam as Diplom-Kaufmanns became it 1970 scientific coworker at the chair for industrial company teachings and operational research at the Eberhard Karl university with professor Dr. Marcell Schweitzer. 1974 it locked its graduation with a thesis for the economical analysis of operational participation. 1977 followed the Habilitation to the topic "interdependences between production theory and the organization of the production process ". Directly in the connection Hans Ulrich was appointed to the technical University of Stuttgart (today University of Stuttgart); still in the same year it accepted a call on a Ordinariat for management economics, esp. production and costs, at the University of meal comprehensive university (today University of Duisburg meal). In the consequence it accepted three further calls: 1982 to the technical university Darmstadt (today technical University of Darmstadt), 1986 to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe university Frankfurt/Main and finally 1990 on the chair for management economics, in particular production economy and Controlling, at the Ludwig Maximilians university Munich. Here and teaches he researches until today. On 11 July 2005 was lent to the technical University of (DO) Munich.

The co-ordination-oriented Controlling conception was coined/shaped considerably by and founded theoretically.

After this meanwhile strongly spread and accepted conception the task of the Controlling lies in the co-ordination of the entire guiding system of an enterprise, consisting of the guidance subsystems information system, planning system, control system, personnel management system as well as organization (system-coupling/material component). Besides the Controlling can be seen as the further independent guidance subsystem in the guiding system (system screen end component).

The interdependences existing between the individual subsystems (mutual dependence), which during arbeitsteiliger task fulfilment usually more or less cut and so that are only conditionally considered, are by the Controlling with all actions and decisions of the enterprise to the decision calculation with are taken up. Thus the adjustment of these actions and decisions is to be guaranteed on the superordinate total goal of the enterprise. The co-ordination within the guiding system takes place thereby on the one hand between the individual, above described guidance subsystems, on the other hand in addition, between the different ranges within each of these subsystems. When further purposes of the Controlling leave themselves after the adjustment and innovation function, the goal adjustment function as well as the service function to derive.

For the fulfilment of the task of co-ordination there is a multiplicity at instruments. These one differentiates on the one hand into isolated, thus only individual subsystems (e.g. only the planning system) instruments concerned (as for example deviation analysis or the cost/proceeds calculation), on the other hand into spreading instruments. These latter concern in each case several of the guidance subsystems (e.g. centralistic guiding systems, budgeting systems, characteristic numbers/target systems as well as accounting/steering element prices) and originally for the Controlling tasks were developed.

Hans Ulrich belongs according to a current quotation ion study to the usually-quoted authors in the area of the Controlling in the German-speaking countries. Its book "Controlling: Conception, tasks, instruments" (4. Aufl.) was established as standard work.
