Hans Eppinger (* 17 December 1848 in Karolinenthal with Prague, "† 12 August 1916 in Graz) was a Austrian physician, father of Hans Eppinger June.

Life

After its study at the University of Prague, he attained a doctorate to 1869 Dr. med., starting from 1872 was Eppinger as a private lecturer, 1875 a.o. professor, and starting from 1882 as a professor for pathological anatomy at the University of Graz actively. 1891 he was selected to the rector, 1912 went he into the retirement.

Eppingers main earnings/services in pathological anatomy is on the area of the bacteriology and infections, which he enriched by the description of a new pathogenen Kladothrix and by her caused the Pseudotuberkulose as well as by its Monographie over the Hadernkrankheit. With this it could lead the proof that it concerned around an infection by inhalation of Sporen and a primary spleen fire illness. Likewise the bakteriologische part is the most valuable in E. most extensive work ("Pathogenesis, Histogenesis and etiology of the aneurysms"), because it brings the discovery and description of the embolisch mykotischen aneurysm.
