The handicrafts register is the listing of all owners of an enterprise of a registration-obligated handicraft (in accordance with plant A law for the order of the handicraft [HwO]) in the chamber district, who exercise a standing trade. The handicrafts register is led by the chamber of trade. Exceptional cases can be for example: other examinations, outsourcing, long waiting periods, health reasons or physical handicap, opportunity to the operating assumption, practice of a special activity, advanced age.

If achievements are furnished not for third, but for the main enterprise, no capability is necessary. These auxiliary enterprises in such a way specified must serve however the economic purpose of the Hauptbetriebes. Manufacturers and importers can with them produced and/or of them introduced products with third to install, without an entry must take place in the handicrafts register ("§ 3 exp. 3 number 2 HwO).
