The German customs tariff: (...) To mention finally is still that the realm borders and the borders of the German tariff and commercial area, to which the customs tariff applies collapse not completely. From the customs border the free cities Hamburg and Bremen with the largest part of their areas, Altona, Brake, as well as some Elbinseln impossible in close proximity to Hamburg, furthermore the island Reichenau in the Bodensee and several yards of Baden at the Swiss border are at present still. On the other hand the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Austrian municipality young wood are enclosed into the customs border of the realm by contracts.
