Guy Francis de Moncy Burgess (* 1911 in Devonian haven, England; "Â 1963 in Moscow, Soviet Union) were a British secret agent and double agent, who worked at the same time for the Soviet Union. It belonged to the espionage ring Cambridge Five within the MI5.
Like many member the British Oberschicht went through Burgess the Eton college, the royal navy academy Dartmouth and studied later at the Trinity college in Cambridge. There it engaged itself in a student debating club, where it became acquainted with Anthony Blunt. Later it followed, like many member its generation of the communist party. There it was introduced with Cambridge Apostles, an at this time strictly Marxist, secret combination.

Burgess died 1963 in Moscow. As Anthony Blunt, which was likewise in the espionage ring Cambridge Apostles implied, was also Burgess homosexual.
