Gustavo A. Cisneros Rendiles (* 1. June 1945 in Caracas) be a venezolanischer entrepreneur in the medium and beverage industry. It is considered as Latin American Medienzar. With a fortune of approximately 5.0 billion dollar (after Forbes) belong it and its family to 100 richest humans of the world.

Origin and career/development

Cisneros is son of the entrepreneur Diego Cisneros. It studied management economics at the private restaurant university Babson college in Wellesley, the USA.

Diego Cisneros had operated and became a forwarding business since 1929 in Caracas 1940 agent of Pepsi in Venezuela. it had received the concession for the private television station which was developed on the basis of the bankrupt's estate of the private station Independiente, S.A. to 1960 with its entrepreneurial group.

Business activity

Its son Gustavo took over 1968 the position of the supervisory board chairman and CEO of the Cisneros entrepreneurial group. With he developed its production activity within the range TV-shows and Telenovelas in the 1970er and 1980er years. Besides it acquired concessions of US-American companies from the food and maintenance industry, among other things from Burger King, with the entrepreneurial group Pizza Hut, Sears Roebuck and Blockbuster Videotheken.

1992 transferred the Cisneros group the majority at the largest offerer of spanischsprachiger television programs in the United States. With it the internationalization of the Cisneros group, which transferred in the subsequent years TV-transmitters and Pay TV institutes to completely Latin America, began among them and Caracol in Colombia. 1996 developed as underentrepreneurial group the Cisneros Television Group.

Political attitudes

Cisneros was supporter of the market liberals politics, which the twice president of Carlo Prez converted. After the assumption of office of Hugo it is one of the perfiliertesten opponents of the president, from whom it fears the nationalization of his venezolanischen TV and Radiosender. for his part faces Cisneros' medium enterprise openly critically, among other things, after the transmitters of the Cisneros group did not report on the demonstrations for with the tried coup d'etat against this in the year 2002.
