Gustav (* 24 October 1868 in Hamm; "† 29 August 1925 in Hamm) was a buyer, art collecting tank and director of museum.

Life

In Hamm visited Gustav the High School Hammonense, left it however before the Abitur, in order to complete book binder teachings. On 11 February 1896 Gustav marries the Therese With the management Gustav receives the possibilities already of removing its own collection developed in connection with the friendly art collecting tank Laurenz Heinrich Hetjens from arts and crafts systematically. In the consequence he becomes and others art expert for the regional court district Duesseldorf.

In the year 1913 it makes a first donation to the urban museum in Hamm and finally offers to 1916 its complete collection as loan. The negotiations over the loans led to a contract with the city Hamm, in which it conveyed life annuities against its collection of the city complete for itself and its wife. Up to its death in the year 1925 Gustav in its hometown worked as a director of museum. After its death the museum received to its names and is called since then "urban Gustav museum".
