Gustav Krupp of planks and halfoh (* 7 August 1870 into the Hague; "Â 16 January 1950 in flowering brook), geb. of planks and halfoh; a German diplomat was later and, after marriage with Bertha Krupp, supervisory board chairman of the Friedrich Krupp AG.
Gustav of planks and halfoh was born as the fifth of seven children of a German diplomat into the Hague. It visited the High School in Karlsruhe and studied afterwards jurisprudence. it attained a doctorate to 1893 in Heidelberg to the Dr. jur. After it was active first in the government service of Baden, it became 1897 Assessor in the Foreign Office in Berlin. Two years later it than went to the message to Washington (D.C.), later to Peking. Starting from 1904 it was as Legationsrat at the Prussian legation with the Vatikan.
By switching emperor Wilhelms II. he married 1906 Bertha Krupp, which sole heiress of the Krupp enterprise, with whom he had eight children. The pair and its descendant was permitted by royal-Prussian decree to bear the name "Krupp of planks and halfoh" as far as and as long as personal ownership for the enterprise was present (the last direct inheritance, Arndt of planks and halfoh, no more was called "Krupp of planks and halfoh ", because he did without the inheritance and management) for this reason.

After the beginning of the First World War brought the foreign business to succumbing, Krupp changed the production over of the enterprise completely from planks and halfoh to armament. This led to the fact that the enterprise came after the end of the First World War 1918 because of the prohibition of the production of armaments (see Versailler contract) into economic difficulties.
In the course of Ruhr occupation by the Frenchmen in the year 1923 Krupp were arrested by planks and halfoh and eight directors of the Krupp AG, condemned by a French military court and arrested seven months, until the realm government among realm chancellors Gustav Stresemann gave the policy up of the passive resistance. By Ruhr occupation the production of the Krupp AG weakened anyway suffered further heavy impairments. Since Krupp of planks and halfoh besides rationalization measures had only converted, the world economic crisis met 1929 the enterprise particularly hard.
1924 became Krupp of planks and halfoh president of the supervisory board of the bank for German industrial bonds, the so-called "Dawes bank ". 1931-34 he was a president of the realm federation of the German industry.
Starting from 1933 the Krupp AG experienced a clear upswing due to the armements policy of the national socialists. Not least before this background Krupp of planks approached and halfoh - after it had first reserved opposite confessed to the national socialism - this after the seizure of power rapidly. 1933 it already became Kuratoriumsvorsitzender of the Adolf Hitler donation of the German economy and 1937 military industrial leaders. 1940 lent Hitler the golden party badge of the NSDAP to it. With beginning of the Second World War the enterprise took a further rapid upswing by the substantial demand for its arms products. Beside the regular person employed at the Krupp AG between 1940 and 1945 approx. 100,000 forced laborers and KZ-prisoners were inserted.
After a set of impact accumulations Krupp transferred end of 1943 the line of the enterprise its oldest son Alfried from planks and halfoh and withdrew themselves to the property of the family in the Austrian flowering brook. In this connection Hitler issued the so-called "Lex Krupp ", which made a transformation of the Krupp for AG possible into a private firm, whose exclusive owner became Alfried Krupp of planks and halfoh.
Gustav Krupp of planks and halfoh stood first on the list of the principal defendants in the war crimes trial. Few days before opening of the process he was explained however illness for process unable and without an opening of the procedure against him did. He spent the last years of his life in flowering brook, maintained from his wife.
