The term guidance becomes related in different contexts.

General phenomenon of the guidance

Guidance is the attempt to affect steering and pointing the way the behavior of itself and of other humans in order to carry out an aim.

Objects of the guidance are individual persons (most frequent association with guidance), person's groups (e.g. Friend circles, working groups, departments).

Guidance carries out itself before the background of different social contexts such as family, politics, economics and military.

Guidance means also line or command authority.

Reason attempts

The anthropologische reason attempt states that

  1. Humans to be led must and
  2. Humans to be led want.

This reason fades out humans, who do not want to be led and accordingly articulate themselves.

The second reason attempt for the explanation of the emergence of the guidance phenomenon is functional kind. It is accepted first that many problem solutions require joint acting. In frameworks such interaction develops now however co-ordination need, which is the larger, the is involved in common problem solution more humans. Apart from the possibility, guidance offers itself to a co-operation, i.e. an action co-ordination by discussion and consent identification as action co-ordination for the accomplishment of the given co-ordination need. The functional reason attempt derives thus the emergence from guidance from a given co-ordination need from humans in the context of common problem solution attempts.

Acceptance of guidance

In particular with the guidance in organizations, it applies to refer to a difference, which is for a more exact understanding of guidance of central importance: Guidance is not to confound with a line function. To differentiate is between a superior (or also leader), its rights and obligations alone by his position to be determined and a guidance person. The latter requires the acknowledgment by the leading (also acceptance called). Guidance is present only if the undertaken Einflussversuch is accepted by the leader on the definition specified to affecting in the sense already by these and into its intended behavior settles. Guidance is never thereby the influence attempt, but must as accepted influence attempt in the behavior to affecting to the expression come.

The criterion of the acknowledgment and/or acceptance makes only the distinction possible between a superior (English: EN: headship) and a leader (English: EN: leadership). So any person can superiors of another person be formal, does not have of the latter however not inevitably than leaders be accepted. The acceptance can result from an appropriate Charisma or be compiled hard.

Technical term of the guidance
